“Adolescent is used to describe young people who are no longer children but who have not yet become adults, “(Collins dictionary). The figure above shows a bar graph of five races who gave birth. Each race is represented by a different colour. The graph shows adolescents between ages fifteen to seventeen (15–17) who gave births at a rate of 1,000 by race or ethnicity from 2000 to 2012. The figures range from a low as (four) 4 to the highest of fifty six (56) per thousands. In all of the years, the Hispanic has the highest number of births, followed by the African, Non Hispanic who has the second highest number of births. The Asian and Pacific Islander has the lowest number of births then followed by the White Non Hispanic. The group that falls in the middle is the American Indian or Alaska Native. The figures show that in 2000 the Hispanic has the highest number of births while each year it gradually decline. The year 2012 is the lowest number for that group, while it was less than half the number in the year 2000. The same decline was evident for all other races. This showed that there was a trend with all the races in the last year where the year 2000 has the most births while 2012 has a massive declined compare to all other years. For the Hispanic 2003 and 2004 have the same number of births.
